The Microfluidizer LM20 (2024 model, manufactured by Microfluidics / Quadro Engineering) is a compact, electrically powered, high-shear fluid processor / high-pressure homogenizer designed for laboratory-scale processing of small sample volumes. It uses intense shear forces, impact, and cavitation in a fixed-geometry chamber to create uniform submicron emulsions, dispersions, liposomes, and achieve efficient cell disruption with consistent, repeatable results. It's a premium lab "workhorse" for nanotechnology-level processing.
Small Sample Capability — Minimum sample size of ~14 ml (with low hold-up volume), making it perfect for precious or limited materials.
Digital Control & Consistency — Siemens touchscreen HMI with digital pressure control, stroke counter, and maintenance reminders for precise, repeatable processing.
Efficient Cooling & Temperature Control — Designed to limit sample temperature rise during processing (max feed temp 165°F / 75°C), helping preserve heat-sensitive biomolecules.
Scalable & Robust Design — Benchtop unit (approx. 23" H × 33" W × 26" L, ~230–250 lbs) with linear scalability to larger Microfluidizer models; built with high-quality components including a 300 ml glass reservoir and diamond or ceramic Interaction Chamber.
