Units operate in temperature ranges of 0 to 40°C (32 to 104°F) and noncondensing humidity conditions of 20–80%, enabling them to be used in general-purpose incubators, warm rooms, environmental chambers, and refrigerators. Triple eccentric drive enables continuous 24-hour operation, handles heavier loads, and provides smooth, uniform agitation of full or unbalanced loads even at high speeds. Shakers feature a powder-coated, cold-rolled steel exterior. A strong, ABS housing surrounds and protects the polyester control panel.
Analog units feature variable speed controlled by a rotary dial, and a DC motor. An integrated tachometer monitors and displays speed in rpm to guarantee accurate setting, and the timer allows for continuous operation or timed shaking from 1–60 minutes.

Maintenance-free digital units feature variable speed control, adjustable with up/down arrows, and a solid-state, brushless DC motor. They also feature separate LED displays for speed and operating time. The speed is adjustable in 1rpm increments. Shaker shutdown and audible and visual signals indicate speed deviations of ±10% of setpoint. The timer allows for continuous operation or timed shaking from 0.1–999 minutes, or from 0.1–999 hours. Soft-start feature eliminates splashing of vessel contents and wetting of flask closure, and helps prevent sudden starts and stops. Setpoint retention retains parameters during power failure and restarts unit automatically after power is restored. RS-232 interface allows remote monitoring of speed and time. Five-tier aluminum platform (sold separately) holds five 25.4x25.4cm (10x10") platelet bags. Each platform is equipped with a white, ribbed vinyl mat.
