Thermo Scientific CryoMed TSCM17EA is a 17 L front-loading, LN2-cooled controlled-rate freezer (medical-device version with built-in thermal printer). It is used to freeze cells, tissues, and other samples on programmable profiles so ice-crystal damage is minimized before long-term cryostorage. It is a 120 V / 60 Hz, NEMA 5-15P unit.

Temperature range and control — Chamber range +50 °C to −180 °C. Dual solenoid LN2 injection plus air-handling / injection-ring system for uniform cooling. Typical programmable rates ~0.1–99.9 °C/min (cooling) and ~0.1–10 °C/min (heating). Type T thermocouples monitor chamber and sample in real time.
Profiles and interface — Touchscreen UI with 6 factory presets plus up to 14 user-defined profiles (multi-step). “Run last,” onboard logging, USB PDF export, 3-level user security, and PC software for remote operation and custom profiles. Built-in thermal printer on the EA model. Supports 21 CFR Part 11-style traceability.
Utilities and construction — Requires a 22 psi (1.5 bar) low-pressure LN2 tank; supplied with a 6 ft stainless braided hose. Stainless-steel chamber, powder-coated steel exterior, front-loading door. 120 V / 60 Hz, 12 A. Alarms for temperature limits, thermocouple failure, power loss, and run complete; remote-alarm contacts.
