Description
Invitrogen E-Gel Power Snap is a compact two-piece benchtop system for running and documenting precast E-Gel agarose gels. The electrophoresis device (G8100, SN 2848022050144) combines a power supply, blue-light transilluminator, and amber filter so you can watch SYBR-stained DNA migrate in real time. The dockable camera (G8200, SN 2848123020077) snaps high-resolution images without a PC or extra cables. Together they take samples from load to image in about 10–15 minutes. Research use only.

Speed and gels — DNA separation in as little as ~5–10 min on E-Gel EX; compatible with low-throughput E-Gel, E-Gel EX, E-Gel Go!, CloneWell II, and SizeSelect II cassettes (not ethidium bromide gels for camera imaging). Dry precast gels; no pouring or post-stain.
Electrophoresis device (G8100) — Integrated power supply + 465 nm blue LED transilluminator (12 high-power LEDs, ~50,000 h life) and amber viewing filter. Real-time band viewing; safer than UV for cloning. Touchscreen with preprogrammed run protocols. Size ~24 × 13 × 7 cm, ~1 kg. Power 100–240 V, 50/60 Hz, ~90 W. Includes Go! adapter and viewing glasses.
Camera (G8200) — Docks on the device (powered by the base; CR2450 3 V battery on the label for clock/backup). Color CMOS, 1600 × 1944 (3 MP), 8-bit, 68 dB dynamic range; TIF (grayscale) and JPG (color). Auto-exposure / auto-capture; onboard touchscreen editing. 32 GB internal memory + front USB. Size ~26 × 13 × 15 cm, ~1 kg.
Workflow — Load cassette → select protocol → watch run through the amber filter → dock camera and capture (or use timed auto-capture). Small footprint; no separate power supply or computer required for imaging.
Safety / use — Blue light instead of UV; intended for SYBR Safe / SYBR Gold II stained E-Gels. Device marked EN61326 Class A Group 1; both units RUO, not for diagnostic procedures.
