Description
Hirayama HICLAVE HV-50 is a vertical, top-loading laboratory autoclave from Hirayama Manufacturing (Japan). It steam-sterilizes liquids, glassware/instruments, and can melt and hold agar. The lid opens upward with an electro-mechanical lock and dual interlock so it cannot be opened while pressurized. Floor-standing, compact footprint. A later HV-50 II adds extra cycles (waste/agar) and more memories; chamber size is the same. From 2024.

Chamber — Effective capacity 50 L. Chamber Ø 300 × 710 mm (~11.8 × 28 in). SUS304 stainless steel. Typical load: baskets for flasks/tubes (e.g. multiple 1 L flasks or a large carboy, depending on baskets).
Sterilization range — 105–135 °C (HV-25 tops out at 126 °C). Max working pressure about 0.26 MPa (~38 psi gauge). Thermometer display to ~137 °C; pressure gauge 0–0.4 MPa.
Programs — Four modes on classic HV-50: liquid with warming, liquid without warming, solid, dissolution (agar melt 60–100 °C, then hold/warm 45–60 °C for up to 20 h). One memory per mode. Sterilize 1–250 min; dissolve 1–60 min. Delayed start from 1 min to 1 week. Liquid-mode exhaust valve 0–100%.
Size / power — Exterior about 547 × 532 × 1046 mm (~20 × 21 × 41 in). Weight ~57–60 kg. Typical power ~2.0 kW; voltages 100/110/120 or 220–240 V, 50/60 Hz (specify when ordered). Often 120 V / 20 A class in North America.
